The Yorkton RCMP has received a complaint of a new attempt to defraud people within the Yorkton area.
Culprits have been calling individuals and posing as representatives of Shopper's Drug Mart and requesting personal information under the premise of updating your personal prescription information.
Do not give any of your personal information, this is a scam.
After receiving the information these culprits are then calling financial institutions and attempting to open bank accounts in the victim's name.
If you receive one of these calls, please hang up and do not share any information with them. If you need to check the credentials of a caller you may do so by calling your local pharmacy directly to verify their identity.
