For one family near Langenburg having their three boys’ home from school because of COVID-19 is being seen as an opportunity for education of a different sort.
“It’s essential during these times that people are doing and learning other things,” said mother Kristy Clay.
“Our boys, (Kaleb, Kolby and Kolton), are learning to cut wood, make fire, and to build a teepee for shelter.”
Kristy Clay added she plans to eventually include some education on growing plants, and similar life skills.
In addition, they have set up desks in the bush where the family can talk about survival and what they can do with the amenities around them, and on the farm.
