Among the booths that were set up to participate at the Kamsack Fall Trade Show held at the Legion Hall on Oct. 16, clockwise from left, were: Mary Kay cosmetics by Kathy Handzuik; Tupperware set up by Shelley Filipchuk; Nancy Weinhandl with I Used To Be; BR Honey, and Alva Beauchamp with Bags for All Reasons.

KAMSACK — A trade show at the Legion Hall last month, and another being held at the Kamsack seniors’ centre on Saturday are incentives to shop locally, said Shelley Filipchuk, an organizer of the events.

“Why not help out our neighbours?” Filipchuk said.

Billed the Kamsack Fall Trade Show, the event held at the Kamsack branch of the Royal Canadian Legion on Oct. 16 attracted 10 vendors and resulted in a donation of $120 for the Kamsack air cadet squadron, she said, explaining that each vendor was charged $20 to participate and after expenses were paid, the remaining amount was donated.

Attending the trade show were: Alva Beauchamp, who sold Bags for All Reasons; Pam Schmuck, Scentsy; Rashele Wasylenchuk, BR Honey; Kathy Handzuik, Mary Kay; Rhena Musqua, knitting and other crafts; Nancy Weinhandl, I Used To Be; Deanna Andres, Found It Body Care; Char Hermary, Young Living; Karen Tourangeau, Epicure, and Filipchuk, Tupperware and Thirty-One products.

Karen Bodnaryk was in the kitchen and supplied the vendors with lunch.

Another similar trade show, being called a Christmas Trade Show, is planned for Nov. 5 at the Kamsack Seniors’ Centre from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., she said. Proceeds realized will be donated to the Centre.

Saturday’s event will include a rainbow auction and lunch will be available. Applications are currently being accepted for vendors wishing to participate.
