Promising U13 provincials team represents multiple communities

The U13 Parkland Predators provincial team will begin the first round provincial series on Friday Feb. 7 at 7 p.m. in Kamsack versus the Wynyard Monarchs.

CANORA - The U13 Parkland Predators provincial team is set to begin the first round provincial series on Friday Feb. 7 at 7 p.m. in Kamsack versus the Wynyard Monarchs. The return game is Feb. 15 in Wynyard at 4 p.m.

The team is excited to get the first round series going. We have played some exhibition games against the Yorkton and Humboldt provincial teams, having success and winning those games.

The team also had a highlight on the Jan. 10-12 weekend, going down to Minot, N.D. to play in the Tournament of Champions and taking home first place. It was a great weekend of hockey and bonding as a team.

The team is entered in the U13 "B" Hockey Sask Provincial Playoffs. This "B" pool has 19 teams entered from all over the province. This is a bracketed tournament with each round being a three- game modified series to determine the winner. The provincial final series wraps up during the last two weeks of March.

The team is comprised of players from all over the Parkland area including Preeceville, Canora, Norquay, Kamsack, Churchbridge and Langenburg. There are 14 players on the team and include: four from the U13 Preeceville Pats - Dillon Serdachny, Ben Halkyard, Easton Will and Landon Erickson; six players from the U13 Kamsack Flyers – Courtlyn Heshka, Kenzee Kopelchuk, Angel Sliva (all three from Canora), Bryden Leis, Brodie Hunter and Flynn Ruf (all three from Kamsack); three from the U13 Churchbridge Imperials – Braxton Fifield, Jack Rapchalk and Kaiden Croswell, and Milo Hainstock is from the U13 Langenburg Warriors.

The coaches for the team are: Riley Erickson, Dean Serdachny, Chris Leis, Jared Ruf and Bryan Heshka. Amanda Hunter is the manager.

The lower back of the Predator jersey acknowledges all the team logos of where each of the players have come from to form this team.

Putting this team on the ice would not be possible without the support of the following sponsors: Kamsack Masonic Lodge, Lakeview Insurance Brokers Norquay, Ace Real Estate & Insurance Services, Duck Mountain Lodge and Kamsack Home Hardware.

We are planning a long playoff run and will be seeking home game sponsorship as we progress through the provincial playoffs, so please reach out to the team via Facebook messenger (U13 Parkland Predators Provincial Team) if you are interested in partnering with the team.
