KAMSACK — In a spirited celebration of Halloween, students and staff at KCI gathered to showcase their creativity and imagination through a variety of costumes. The Halloween costume judging event proved to be a memorable occasion, with participants from different grades, pairs, and groups vying for recognition in various categories. The winners, in a diverse range of costumes, showcased their talents and received accolades for their exceptional efforts.
The competition was divided into several categories to accommodate different grade levels, ensuring a fair and exciting contest for everyone involved.
In the Grades 5/6 category, Kean Quiambao captured the title of Scariest, while the Funniest category was a shared victory among Liam Bates, Quinn Bedore, and Karleigh Lambert. Silas Guillet claimed the Most Original Costume award, showcasing unique creativity.
Moving on to Grades 7-9, the Scariest category featured a trio of winners, with Summer Straightnose, Tess K., and Aliayah Cote all impressing the judges. Reed Woodworth earned the title of Funniest, while Hannah Talbot's creativity secured the Most Original Costume award.
For the students in Grades 10-12, Joziah Keshane's spine-tingling costume was the Scariest category winner. In the Funniest category, Jacob Burback and Levi Erhardt teamed up for a hilarious performance. Chris Stevenson took home the Most Original Costume award for his creative attire.
The pairs category saw Keyla Keifer and Layla Sas, as well as Ella Ruf and Finley Hudye, emerging as the winners for their inventive and entertaining costumes.
In the group category, Beyu Sapinoso, Ameer Prejola, and Murdock Martinuik, as well as Taylor Thurlow, Brianna Gouge, Izzy Marsh, Bella Kulak, and Eden Rushton, impressed the judges with their creative ensemble efforts.
However, the highlight of the event was the remarkable costume by Summer Straightnose, Aliyah Cote, and Tess Key, who collectively portrayed the "Wheelchair Nurses and patients." Their costumes earned them the title of "Best Overall."
The participation and enthusiasm displayed by all contestants were truly commendable, making it a challenging task for the judges to select the winners. The event allowed the KCI students and teachers to come together and celebrate a fun Halloween.
Special recognition was also given to the staff members who joined in on the Halloween fun. Mrs. Sarsachuk and Ms. Olson were recognized as staff winners, along with Mr. Jacobs, Mrs. Reilkoff, and Mr. McDonald.
