KAMSACK— In a heartfelt display of generosity and community support, Holy Trinity Church, following their monthly Holy Communion service at Eaglestone Lodge in Kamsack, presented a cheque for $10,000.00 to the Lodge's Board. The contribution is intended to aid in the completion of essential ramps at the Lodge's entrances, facilitating accessibility for individuals using walkers and wheelchairs.
Tricia Seppak, the Manager of Eaglestone Lodge, accepted the generous donation on behalf of the Lodge. The funds were amassed over the years through the kind contributions of parishioners, with the initial goal of funding a full-time priest. During the interim, lay services were conducted by a dedicated rotation of members. Presently, Rev. Nancy Brunt, a non-stipendiary priest, is overseeing the spiritual needs of the community.
Given the diverse affiliations of residents at the Lodge, a decision was also made during a vestry meeting to disburse donations to a variety of deserving causes at the local, provincial, national, and international levels. The recipients of these contributions encompass a range of non-profit and charitable organizations, each dedicated to meaningful and impactful work. The following organizations have and will receive separate donations that will total up to $5,000:
Eaglestone Lodge: A community-owned non-profit care home in Kamsack, aimed at enhancing the quality of life for its residents.
The Primates Relief and Development Fund: Allocated towards flood and fire relief efforts in Nova Scotia and the North West Territories, demonstrating a commitment to assisting fellow Canadians in times of need.
Camp Harding: An Anglican Summer Camp situated in the Cypress Hills, focusing on providing enriching experiences for youth within the community.
The College of Emmanuel and St. Chad at the University of Saskatchewan: Intended to support the training of future priests, investing in the future of spiritual leadership within the Church.
The Diocese of Muyinga in Central Africa: Directly contributing to a children's hospital, displaying a global reach and commitment to helping those in need on an international scale.
This act of benevolence stands as a testament to the values and principles upheld by Holy Trinity Parish, highlighting their dedication to supporting various charitable endeavours and making a positive difference in the lives of individuals both locally and abroad.
