KAMSACK - On Sept. 17 the Legacy Co-op held its Fuel Good Day, where this year their Kamsack sponsor was the Society for the Involvement of Good Neighbors (SIGN).
Andrew Sedley, the executive director of SIGN, said in an interview with the Kamsack Times, “The co-op, are such a great community partner. And they're constantly giving back to the community. And us as a non-profit, it truly makes a difference to provide free programming to individuals here in Kamsack.”
Devin Hootz, a staff member of the SIGN family resource centre, said “We'll be using it (the profits gained from Fuel Good Day) to expand our current programs. So right now we are putting a priority on Mother's Mental Health. So that's a new program we have out for September. Also we’re just ramping up our fall programming for when the kids start getting back to school. We start kicking everything off again. We also have culture days coming up. So we have a collaborative community project we're working on for that. So these funds will go to that as well. Families and parents can use our center as a place to attend for programs and then for any interest, concerns or needs that they have, they can also come and see us. And we can provide information and resources and then also refer them to programs if need be.”
