The Yorkton Film Festival is proud to announce the selection of its next Spotlight on the News film screenings. A month has passed since the Paris attacks on the Charlie Hebdo office, and in the wake of this horrific event conversations have begun world-wide over the limits of free speech. It is within this conversation that we shall be holding a screening of 鈥淒angerous When Provoked: The Life & Times of Terry Mosher.鈥 Dangerous When Provoked tells the story of cartoonist Terry Mosher, also known as Aislin, who has spent his professional life lampooning the rich and powerful while wrestling with his own demons. 鈥淗is cartoons are a diary of every folly and controversy that has meshed with the sad Canadian consciousness,鈥 says the CBC鈥檚 Rex Murphy. Described as a barber with chainsaw, Aislin鈥檚 cartoons have often pushed the limits of satire and free speech. Join us on Thurs., Feb. 19 at 2:00 p.m. at the Godfrey Dean Cultural Centre for a screening of this film.
