There was certainly a festive kind of feeling inside the Civic Center down in the village of Elbow on Saturday, November 24 as the community celebrated Santa Day.
The festivities got underway at 1:30 as Santa arrived on Main Street via his handy sleigh, while his elves followed behind on a golf cart that one can only surmise was powered by Christmas spirit.
From there, the celebrations got underway at the Civic Center, where St. Nick had the best view in the house perched on the stage as friends, families and neighbors got together to help ring in the most merry time of the year with games and refreshments, including hot dogs and hot chocolate courtesy of the Elbow Service Club, visits with Santa and his helpful elves, and even sleigh rides around the village.
There seemed to be something for everyone to enjoy throughout the afternoon, and for many residents, especially the youngest ones, it was a memorable way to kickstart the holiday season.
