The community of Outlook has been signed up and registered for an online physical activity challenge that could potentially see the town wind up with a grand prize of $10,000.
The ‘Go Out and Play’ Challenge, put on by the Saskatchewan Blue Cross and Sask in Motion, encourages the residents of any participating community to log their physical activity minutes into online profiles during the time period of the challenge, and the community with the most overall minutes ends up with the $10,000 grand prize.
There is also a runner-up prize of $5000.
Outlook is one of the 17 current locations registered for the challenge, and should the town wind up with the top prize, the money would help fund the completion of the playground at the Jim Kook Rec Plex sportsgrounds.
Previous winners of the Go Out and Play Challenge include communities in the local region. Last year’s winner was the Village of Kenaston, which logged more than 419,650 minutes of physical activity over the 10-day period of the contest. The more people that take part and commit to it, the better chances that any community has of winning some much-needed cash.
The profile creation period starts on February 14, while the official challenge kicks off from March 1-10. The winning community is expected to be announced on March 15.
