The Outlook branch of the Royal Canadian Legion cordially invites you to a special birthday celebration next Friday night.
The branch will be celebrating long-time member of the Legion and World War II veteran Art Hauberg, who will mark his 99th birthday.
Art became a member of the Royal Canadian Legion after completing his service for the Canadian Armed Forces following World War II, in which he served tours in Europe, including Holland and Italy. Hauberg was in Holland when they were liberated at the end of the war, and he was also present for the invasion that drove the Germans out of Italy when that country was liberated.
Art joined the Legion after returning home from the war, serving as an active member ever since. He is a known face at Remembrance Day services held in Outlook, and he enjoys being able to relay stories of his service to those who wish to listen.
The Outlook Legion will hold a celebration for Hauberg’s 99th birthday on Friday evening, March 8 at the Legion Hall, where attendees can learn about his time serving his country and some of Art’s accomplishments throughout his life.
Those interested in attending are being asked to arrive anytime after 5:45 pm.
