Eighteen assorted nations around the globe seemed to have a presence in the gymnasium at Outlook High School last week as Grade 6 students hosted their annual FolkFest event, spotlighting the customs and cultures of various countries.
The students put their creativity into putting a focus on everything there is to learn about the likes of Jamaica, Â鶹ÊÓƵ Africa, Ireland, Mexica, Cuba, Iceland, the Bahamas, Greenland, Spain, St. Lucia, Ghana, Scotland, Togo, France, Argentina, England, the Netherlands and the Dominican Republic, and there was something to offer at each station, whether it be learning the customs and cultures of that country, or even trying out an ethnic delicacy for a nice mid-afternoon snack.
The FolkFest event brought out classrooms of fellow OHS students to check out the work of their young peers, and the doors were also open to the public so that proud parents and others who were interested could see what the kids came up with.
Every year the kids put on something special, and the 2019 edition of OHS FolkFest was no different.
