Longtime residents of Outlook and area will remember that once upon a time, the town used to host a rodeo at the rink every year. That event disappeared from the yearly schedule of community outings a long time ago, but people may be happy to learn that the rodeo will in fact be returning to Outlook next summer.
At their most recent meeting, town council approved a proposal brought forward by CCA, the Canadian Cowboys Association, to have an outdoor rodeo event in Outlook. Joey Mizu, a delegate representing the association, was on hand to discuss the details with council. The event will require roughly 20 acres of land, and while a couple of possible locations were talked about at the meeting, the location of the rodeo has yet to be determined.
The event is tentatively set to take place August 24 & 25.
