Retired teachers celebrate rewarding careers

A group of retired local educators got together in Canora on the first day school for a walk and breakfast, enjoying the end of fulfilling careers.

CANORA - “To hell with the bell” usually involves a group of retired educators who get together on the first day of the return to school for a breakfast, celebrating the end of a career.

In Canora, on Sept. 5, the Assiniboine Chapter of the Superannuated Teachers of Saskatchewan celebrated to hell with the bell with a walk that took them past the Canora Composite High School and ended with a dinner at Wong’s Café.

Taking part in the walk were: Rhetta Ludba, Ken Rolheiser, Maxine Stinka, Rhetta Ludba, Arnie Makowsky, Gail and Ken Krawetz, and Kathy Kaminski. They were later joined at the dinner by: George Stinka, Mike Kaminski, Cecil Machnee, Lorraine Kotelnikoff, Donna and Arnold Makowsky, and Al Kondratoff.
