The Preeceville U18 hockey team is off to a great start to their season with six straight wins.
The team is made up of players from: Preeceville, Sturgis, Lintlaw, Pelly and Canora. Members of the coaching staff are: Jesse Nelson, Bryan Heshka and Jordan Vogel.
The first several games the team played were exhibition contests. The team played Stanley Mission on Oct. 30 in a fun game at the Preeceville Arena. Preeceville crushed their opponents with a 5-0 win. Scorers for the Pats were: Kaiden Masley (three goals), Spencer Leech and Rhett Ludba of Canora. Assists were by: Mason Babiuk, Briel Beblow of Canora, Dixon Paul and Kaiden Masley.
Preeceville played an exhibition game at Kelvington, which ended in a 7-3 win. Scoring for Preeceville were: Porter Wolkowski and Briel Beblow of Canora, Spencer Leech (two), Kaiden Masley, Rhett Ludba and Jace Vogel. Assists were by: Mason Babiuk, Kaiden Masley, Jace Vogel, Rhett Ludba and Bronson Heshka of Canora and Dixon Paul.
Preeceville travelled to Langenburg on Nov. 10 for the last exhibition game and kept winning, this time with a 7-2 final score. Finding the net for Preeceville were: Kaiden Masley (three goals), Bryker Smith, Hudsyn Nelson and Spencer Leech (two).
The first league game was against Parks Posse on Nov. 13 in Preeceville. The Pats skated to 5-0 win, adding to the team’s winning streak. Scoring for Preeceville were Spencer Leech (two goals), Porter Wolkowski, Tomas Hauber of Canora and Hudsyn Nelson. Assists were by: Hudsyn Nelson, Rhett Ludba, Mason Babiuk and Spencer Leech.
The second league game was versus Yorkton Remax on Nov. 15 in Yorkton. Preeceville added it’s fifth straight win by the score of 5-1. Scoring for Preeceville were: Spencer Leech (two goals), Briel Beblow, Hudsyn Nelson and Kaiden Masley. Assists came from: Tomas Hauber, Briel Beblow, Kaiden Masley, Jake Soltys and Spencer Leech.
The Preeceville Pats U18 team continues to dominate the Major Hockey League and remains undefeated to date.
Preeceville faced off against the Langenburg Warriors at the Canora Civic Centre on Nov. 23 in a game that ended in a shutout win of 7-0 with Skylar Ryczak in goal for Preeceville. Scoring for Preeceville were: Tomas Hauber (three), Spencer Leech, Rhett Ludba, Bryker Smith and Zander Purdy. Assists were by: Spencer Leech, Brody Shankowsky, Hudsyn Nelson, Bronson Heshka, Kaiden Masley, Rhett Ludba and Jake Soltys.
