Car show a main attraction at Streetfest & Party in the Park

Eric Holtcamp of Otthon won first place car for his eye-catching 1932 roadster.

CANORA - If the numbers are any indication, the Cruisers Car Club Car Show was the centre of attention at the Canora Streetfest & Party in the Park on Aug. 17. With 123 entries and a number of other show vehicles that weren’t registered, as one organizer put it, “We even beat Stenen.”

Cruisers members got together and built six unique trophies out of old parts for the winners: three for cars, and one each for the best bike, the best truck, and the best rat rod. Unlike other years, the winners for the 2024 show were chosen by judges.

Canora vehicles were well represented at the show, but the winners all came from out of town.

Eric Holtcamp of Otthon won first place car for his eye-catching 1932 roadster.

Second place went to Preeceville’s Wayne and Helen Scheller for their 1971 Pontiac GTO Judge.

The third place car was a 1970 Plymouth Roadrunner Superbird entered by Rod Macha of Swan River, Man.

The best truck was a 1972 GMC Custom pickup belonging to Dale and Janice Nistor of Cupar.

The first place motorcycle award was earned by a 1999 Harley Davidson Softail Custom owned by Jerry Stulberg of Melville.

Harvey Cooper of Saltcoats won the best rat rod for his 1950 Chevy truck.
