Canora/Sturgis RCMP activity report: Street corner disturbance

RCMP received a complaint of an intoxicated female causing a disturbance on a street corner in Canora. Police located the female and arrested her for public intoxication.

The Canora/Sturgis RCMP responded to 43 calls from Aug. 11 to 18, including a report of cows trespassing on private land in the RM of Buchanan on Aug. 13. Police attended, however the cows were gone upon arrival.

CANORA/STURGIS — The Canora/Sturgis RCMP responded to 43 calls from August 11 to 18, some of which included: one 911 Act call, two thefts, eight traffic offences, one failure to comply with conditions, one fraud, seven other provincial calls, two impaired operations, three uttering threats, two wellbeing checks, one Mental Health Act call, three false alarms, three mischiefs, three suspicious persons, and five other provincial/municipal calls.

Street corner disturbance

The Canora/Sturgis RCMP received a complaint of an intoxicated female causing a disturbance on a street corner in Canora. Police located the female and arrested her for public intoxication.

Party complaint

The Canora/Sturgis RCMP received a complaint on Aug. 12 of a loud party in Preeceville. Police attended the location of the party and spoke with the partygoers to keep the music volume down.

Wandering cattle

The Canora/Sturgis RCMP were dispatched to a report of cows trespassing on private land in the RM of Buchanan on Aug. 13. Police attended, however the cows were gone upon arrival.

Puppies break out

On Aug. 15, the Canora/Sturgis RCMP were dispatched to a complaint of dogs on the loose in Canora. Police attended and learned that puppies had broken through a fence. The owner of the puppies was able to return each one back into the yard.

Stolen alcohol

The Canora/Sturgis were dispatched to a report on Aug. 15 of a bottle of vodka stolen from the Canora Co-op Liquor Store. Police continue to investigate. 

Vehicle vandalism

The Canora/Sturgis RCMP received a complaint of a smashed windshield on a vehicle in Canora on Aug. 15. The damages were a result of vandalism. If you have any information about this incident, please contact the Canora RCMP or you can also report anonymously via Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers. 

House egged

On Aug. 16, the Canora/Sturgis RCMP were dispatched to a complaint that a house in Canora, located by the Canora golf course, was egged. The complainant reported the suspect vehicle was red in colour and was observed speeding off. 

Music dispute

The Canora/Sturgis RCMP were dispatched on Aug. 17 to a complaint of threats in Canora concerning a dispute among neighbours over loud music. Police attended and mediated the issue to ensure a compromise was met.
