CANORA — The Canora/Sturgis RCMP responded to 31 calls from Jan. 25 to Jan. 31 some of which included:
- two 911 calls,
- one animal call,
- one breach of peace,
- one criminal harassment,
- one failure to comply with conditions,
- one impaired operation,
- one mischief,
- one suspicious person,
- two thefts,
- two traffic collisions,
- 15 traffic offenses, and
- two uttering threats.
Driver in need of sleep
On Jan. 30, the Canora/Sturgis RCMP were dispatched to a possible impaired driver on Highway 9 south of Canora.
The driver was reported to have been swerving and crossing the centre line. Police located the vehicle and determined the driver was sober but impaired by lack of sleep.
Injured breaking window
The Canora/Sturgis RCMP were dispatched on Jan. 28 to a disturbance outside a residence in Canora.
Police located a woman with a severe laceration to her arm. Police learned the woman cut herself after breaking the window on the residence door. The woman was taken to hospital by ambulance.
Didn’t pay for gas
The Canora/Sturgis RCMP investigated a gas and dash from the Gateway Co-op gas station in Preeceville on Jan. 25.
The driver of a black Dodge Journey drove away with out paying for fuel. Police continue to investigate.
Star Wars fan perhaps?
On Jan. 25, the Canora/Sturgis RCMP investigated a threats complaint in Sturgis.
Police attended the call and learned a man had threatened to harm two other people with a toy lightsaber. The matter was able to be resolved without further police involvement.
