Canora and area residents enjoy pool party at new facility

The Canora Aquatic Park pool party on July 25 was enjoyed by approximately 300 visitors, many of them looking forward to going for a swim.

CANORA- The Canora Aquatic Park hosted a pool party on July 25 with approximately 300 visitors coming through the gates, many of them looking forward to going for a swim.

Pool Manager Breanne Woloshyn reported that the afternoon’s activities included hotdogs, ice-cream treats, an inflatable course, and activities for the kids.

The free barbecue was sponsored by Gateway Co-op and Crossroads Credit Union, while the 50-foot bouncer was sponsored by the Town of Canora, Leisure Services.

“East Central Mobile Early Learning – Area 12 had about seven stations set up for the kids to enjoy,” said Woloshyn, “which included a fishing game, water station, number activity, bubble station, making bird feeders, and various other activities. Our community is very grateful for the sponsors of our pool party which allowed us to have a successful day full of fun for everyone.”

Woloshyn said there was not a lot of sun for the event, “but it was nice enough for everyone to enjoy a swim and a snack afterward. The inflatable obstacle course was enjoyed by our older kids, while the activities brought in by East Central Mobile Early Learning interested the younger children.”

Of course, the pool was a hotspot for almost everyone, “as many enjoyed the slides. Everything ran smoothly with only smiles on everyone’s faces. Even our lifeguards enjoy working these days because they can dabble in some of the fun activities brought in, as well as having positive interactions with the patrons,” said Woloshyn.

“Special thanks to our sponsors Gateway Co-op, Crossroads Credit Union, and East Central Mobile Early Learning - Area 12 for making this day great!”
