Calgary Flames goaltender Jacob Markstrom is out day-to-day with a lower-body injury, the NHL club announced Tuesday.

Markstrom, who is 13-11-2 with a 2.59 goals-against average and .912 save percentage this season, left Calgary's practice early Monday for what head coach Ryan Huska called "maintenance."

The 33-year-old Swedish goaltender has been excellent for the resurgent Flames of late, winning five of his last six starts.

His only loss over that span was a 39-save performance in a 3-2 defeat at Philadelphia on Jan. 6.

The Flames recalled goaltender Dustin Wolf from the American Hockey League's Calgary Wranglers to back up Dan Vladar in Markstrom's absence.

Wolf has a 16-6-1 record for the Western Conference-leading Wranglers this season and is second in the AHL with a .929 save percentage and four shutouts.

He is 1-4 in five starts with the Flames this season, with his lone win coming in a 28-save performance in a 3-1 win over Carolina on Dec. 7.

Vladar was scheduled to start for the Flames Tuesday night against visiting Arizona.

The Czech netminder is 6-5-2 with a 3.42 GAA and .883 save percentage this season.

The Flames entered the game against the Coyotes with six wins in their last eight games.
