EDMONTON — The Edmonton Oilers have signed defenceman Phil Kemp to a two-year, two-way contract extension worth US$1.55 million at the NHL level.

The 24-year-old from Greenwich, Conn., had six goals and 15 assists over 71 games with the American Hockey League's Bakersfield Condors in 2022-23.

Kemp, whose contract carries an average annual value of $775,000, led the Condors with a plus/minus rating of plus-12.

The six-foot-three, 202-pound defender was selected by the Oilers in the seventh round, 208th overall of the 2017 NHL draft.

The graduate of Yale University has nine goals and 22 assists in 138 regular-season games over three AHL seasons.
